Biting cold New Year

Happy biting cold New Year everyone. This is Paul Cameron in the WBTV Newsroom getting ready for our 11:00PM newscast tonight.

We're headed to the teens tonight. But Eric Thomas says if you think this is cold, wait until early next week when many of us could be facing single digit temperatures.

By the way, did you know tonight's predicted low temperature is equal to an average night for people living 1,500 miles to the north in Halifax, Nova Scotia?

Tonight, we learned of a major foul up with North Carolina's Medicaid Cards, meant for children, but sent to the wrong addresses. It means sensitive personal information could wind up in the wrong hands. Reporter Brigida Mack is talking to parents who were surprised to get someone else's cards from the state.

And, if you're willing to pay to sit in the owner's box for the Panthers' playoff game, it'll set you back a hefty $37,000. We'll show you what you get for that kind of moolah.

Please join Molly Grantham, Eric Thomas, Delano Little and me for WBTV News at 11:00 in just a few minutes from now.
