CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police in Charlotte are investigating an incident at a high school on Tuesday where a student set another student's hair on fire.
The incident was reported at West Mecklenburg High School at 7:50 a.m., according to the report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
A 16-year-old male student was playing with a lighter when he accidentally set a 17-year-old female student's hair on fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished and no major injuries were reported.
The male student was charged with simple assault.
