HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - A Physical Education teacher in Huntersville is facing charges after police say he had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to Huntersville Police, officers were contacted by Charlotte Mecklenburg School Law Enforcement on November 21 about allegations of inappropriate contact between a teacher and juvenile student at Hopewell High School.

During the investigation, officers found that inappropriate texting and physical contact occurred on the campus of Hopewell High School during school hours.

The student told officers that PE teacher David Allison engaged in flirtatious texting during and outside of school hours, and on one occasion engaged in inappropriate physical contact, according to the report.

Detectives with the Huntersville Police Department charged Allison, 26, with taking Indecent Liberties with a Student.

Detectives told WBTV they believe this is an isolated incident that involves only one student; however, if anyone has additional information the Huntersville Police Department is asking that they please come forward.
