Chester police arrest man wanted in rape case involving 12-year-old child

CHESTER, SC (WBTV) - Police in Chester have arrested a registered sex offender who they say raped a 12-year-old girl.
John Henry Lowery II, 42, of Chester, was arrested on Pinckney Street on Thursday by police for the incident that occurred on Nov. 3.
Investigators say he was hiding in the attic of his mother's home.
The victim's mother called police to their home in Chester and told police that her daughter had been raped, according to the press release from the Chester Police Department.
The child was taken to Chester Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Lowery is a registered sex offender in Chester County.
