Fire breaks out in West Charlotte duplex

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - One person who lives in a West Charlotte duplex had to sleep elsewhere Saturday night, after a fire damaged their unit.

Firefighters were busy putting out the flames at 604 West Boulevard, just off I-77. They were called to the scene round 11:30 p.m.

The resident escaped unhurt.

In the video above this story, you won't be able to see damage inside the house, but firefighters tell WBTV that water from the fire hoses and smoke damaged the inside of the unit.

The Red Cross says it providing the displaced resident with food and overnight accommodations.
