GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Firefighters from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department, and personnel from Gaston Emergency Medical Services battled a structure fire, early Tuesday morning.
At 6:13 a.m. on Tuesday September 18th, Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue received a dispatch of a reported structure on fire near the intersection of Chriscoe Lane and Birchfield Lane in Gaston County, according to a news release from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue.
Crews arrived on the scene and witnessed a one story manufactured home fully involved with fire, with flames coming from the roof, windows, and doors of the dwelling.

Citing the fact that the home was vacant, the structural integrity of the manufactured home was compromised, and the amount of fire present, a defensive only attack was ordered.
Firefighters battled the blaze for over 30 minutes until it was extinguished.
A total of 13 firefighters were on the scene, along with 5 fire trucks.
The structure sustained substantial damage and is a total loss.

No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force.
