CHARLOTTE, N. C. (WBTV) -- Whether you are an A-Lister or just hoping to spot a celebrity, the nightlife for the Democratic National Convention is just getting warmed up.

On the eve of the convention, there were private parties happening all over Center City.

John Legend and Nick Cannon (the celebrity DJ) brought down the at the "Light up the Night" event sponsored by Duke Energy at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Dave Navarro could be seen jamming on stage with his band Camp Freddy at the North Carolina Music Factory until the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

Ph on Bouaphanh, who lives in Uptown and was lucky enough to score an invite to invitation-only party was thrilled.

"I'm just eating it up," she said. "I live in Uptown Charlotte and I know it's crazy and I tell all my friends it's crazy but I'm enjoying it and there's not gonna be anything like this again."

The opportunity to spot the Who's Who of the DNC is pretty much everywhere. At the Epicenter we saw CBS This Morning's Charlie Rose walking the cobble-stoned walkways. He was gracious enough to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

WBTV also spotted, Madeleine Albright, a former Secretary of State grabbing some frozen yogurt at YoForia.

We caught up we her as she left and she said, "I'm thrilled to be here and Charlotte is a great place to have a convention. I'm come down a number of times to get ready for this."

With the DNC getting started Tuesday, the parties, red carpets events and chances to do some celeb-spotting are practically endless.
