GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A Gaston County paramedic is accused of assaulting a woman in the parking lot of a police station, according to police.

Police say 49-year-old Bryan Allen Geouge is accused of assaulting a female dispatcher late Monday night in the parking lot of the Gaston County Police Department.

Geouge told officers that he and the 911 dispatcher were dating, but the 28-year-old says they were just friends.

According to the report, Geouge grabbed the woman by the shirt and threw her to the ground in the side parking lot of the police department while she was on a lunch break.

Police Assistant Chief Joe Ramey said an officer witnessed the incident occur.

Geouge, who was off-duty at the time, has reportedly worked for Gaston County since October 1998.

He was charged with assault on a female, carrying a concealed gun after officers found a .40-caliber handgun in his vehicle and a misdemeanor charge of first-degree trespass.
