CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Dozens of people organized a "flash mob" Saturday to bring attention to organ donation, as National Donate Life month prepares to kick off April 1.
The flash mob group worked with LifeShare of the Carolinas for Saturday's event. They want people to know that organ, eye, and tissue donations are successful and donors are needed.
The group says as of March 9, 2012, there were more than 113,000 people on the waiting list for an organ transplant – at least 3,575 of those people are in North Carolina.
Donors are a critical need and everyone can help. All you have to do is sign up for the donor registry. You can do it at the DMV or online at www.donatelifenc.org or www.lifesharecarolinas.org
