CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Several arts groups are collaborating to honor the creative community and some beautiful work.

"Ulysses: Charlotte's New Festival of the Arts" is a month-long celebration.  There are paid and free events all celebrating the arts community.

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, N.C. Dance Theatre and Opera Carolina, along with regional cultural partners, will participate.

It will include performances by the N.C. Dance Theatre (Sleeping Beauty) and Opera Carolina (Eugene Onegin).

The theme for the inaugural 2012 festival is The Majesty of Russia and the Music of Tchaikovsky.

Elina Lev, Associate Concertmaster for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, visited WBTV News Sunday Morning to talk about the Spring Festival of the Arts.

Lev is currently one of the youngest orchestra leaders in the United States.
