Get Your Rear in Gear! (Also known as: "Help fight colon cancer!")
CHARLOTTE, NC - Colon cancer is one of the most deadly cancers around, but one you don't often hear much about. Sue Falco and Pam Gwaltney are trying to change that.
Falco is a colon cancer survivor. Gwaltney is the a Nurse Navigator from Charlotte's Presbyterian Hospital who helps all colorectal cancer patients navigate their care.
They are both involved in organizing this year's Charlotte "Get Your Rear in Gear" 5k at Independence Park this coming Saturday, March 10th.
"We have to be able to beat this disease," says Falco. "It impacts all ages, as evidenced by me."
Both ladies appeared on WBTV News at 10:00pm on CW 46 (WJZY) to talk about the race.
The conversation got personal. To hear the segment, click the attached video.
