Good Samaritan attempts to help man with car trouble, gets robbed

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A Gaston County man who was attempting to be a Good Samaritan ended up getting robbed after someone pulled a gun on him.

According to police, 40-year-old Tim Ferrell was walking out of the JCPenney store at Eastridge Mall when he saw a man who appeared to be having car trouble and asked if he needed help.

That's when police say the man lifted his shirt to show a gun stuck in the waist of his pants and demanded money from Ferrell.

The man then stole Ferrell's wallet, watch and wedding ring.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6-foot-3, stocky-build, 240 pounds, clean shaven and was wearing a hoodie and jeans.

A second man was seen driving a new dark blue Toyota Camry, but the victim did not get a good look at him.
