CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Police are trying to determine if a former worker embezzled thousands of dollars from a furniture store in Charlotte.
The alleged embezzlement occurred at Overstock Furniture between December 15, 2010, and May 19, 2011.
According to the police report, merchandise was ordered, shipped and received at two stores in Charlotte, but the items were never sold.
An inventory of the two stores revealed 235 pieces of household furniture worth $17,658 missing from the Brookshire Boulevard location. There were 101 pieces valued at $8,239 missing from the Monroe Road location.
Police say the suspect has been identified, but no charges have been filed against him at this time.
