HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The Horry County Police Department has located a teenager previously reported missing in the Myrtle Beach area.
Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, said 16-year-old Christina Maria Swann was reported missing Tuesday by her parents, who said they hadn't spoken to her since she left for school that morning.
Upon further investigation, officers learned Swann was supposed to go home on the school bus Tuesday afternoon, but instead got a ride to her boyfriend's apartment complex, Alta Surf, from the mother of a friend.
Swann was dropped off at the front of Alta Surf and was not seen since, according to Kegler.
Officers spoke to Swann's boyfriend, who said Swann never showed up at his apartment.
Around noon Wednesday, Kegler said Swann was found at Alta Surf and is reported as being safe. Further details have not been released at this time.
According to Swann's father, Alton Swann, she apparently spent the night outside during the storm in a wooded area near the apartment complex. After her boyfriend's mother left for work Wednesday morning, she then went up to his apartment.
