See, Click, Fix: Home left boarded up after a year

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) - The Glen Haven Community in Charlotte has row after row of two-story homes but it's hard to miss the one on Wandering Creek Drive.

The home sits lifeless, the windows boarded up, the city of Charlotte Code Enforcement deeming the home unsafe... but that designation was given almost a year ago! Since then, it doesn't look like much has changed.

Charlotte Code Enforcement says it cited the home for such things as holes in the walls, damaged doors, missing locks, unsanitary conditions on the floor and walls and damage to the vinyl flooring.

WBTV's Christine Nelson started calling around to find out Cypress Homes is listed as the last owner. Almost every number we came upon for the company was disconnected.

It's on the Charlotte Better Business Bureau web site that we discovered Cypress Homes is actually out of business.

Code enforcement said it has ordered a new title search to figure out if the home has changed hands... Until then this home in need of repair will have to sit in disrepair.

Code enforcement says it has served a number of notices for hearings on this home but no one from Cypress Homes showed up.

It also says civil penalties have accrued because the house is still after almost a year, not compliant.
