Schools, agents on notice amid NCAA investigations

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Southern California was slapped with a two-year bowl ban last month.

Now North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida have acknowledged that the NCAA is looking at their athletic departments.

All four situations have a common thread and it is possible wrongdoing involving athletes and agents. The NCAA won't discuss the cases specifically, but officials say they believe they are making progress in cracking down on impermissible activity.

The NCAA's Rachel Newman-Baker says she thinks people are more willing to share what they know, making enforcement easier.

Agent Mark Bartelstein says it would be great if the NCAA could do a better job enforcing its policies. He says sometimes those who follow the rules end up at a disadvantage.
