Earth Day service for Veterans

MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Instead of spending Earth Day making money, Joe Keller chose to donate his services to someone who served.

Keller's Lawn Care in Statesville brought the crew down to Mooresville for the day to work in the yard of World War 2 veteran Robert Mathews.

Keller is part of a program called Green Care for Troops which takes care of service men and women's lawn care while they're deployed.

Keller chose this year to fix up the yard of a veteran and install a new flag pole in a prominent spot in his yard.

Mr. Mathews is mighty proud of his shiny new yard, and his shiny new flag pole which to him, means the world.
