CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police have found a car they believe was used during a homicide and robbery in west Charlotte Friday night.

Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were called to the 3300 block of Avalon Avenue around 9:30 p.m. in reference to a male victim who reportedly passed out.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found David White who had been shot and killed.  The 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The Brookshire Inn at 3601 Brookshire Boulevard was robbed a short time later at 10:14 p.m.

CMPD detectives think the fatal shooting on Avalon Avenue and the Brookshire Inn robbery may be connected.

Surveillance video from the Brookshire Inn showed about 4 or 5 black males in small black, 2-door Chevy Monte Carlo which drove away right after the robbery occurred.

On Wednesday, the CMPD said they had found the car but no suspects have been arrested.

If you know anything about either of these crimes, call 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
