Hospital shooter described as quiet and polite

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - A neighbor describes a hospital worker who allegedly shot and killed two employees before killing himself as a quiet and polite family man who would often go jogging with his wife.

Police and witnesses say Mario Ramirez opened fire inside California's Long Beach Memorial Medical Center on Thursday. One victim was found inside the hospital and a second was found outside the hospital's emergency room entrance. Ramirez was found dead on the north side of the hospital.

A hospital spokeswoman says Ramirez and the other men, Hugo Bustamante and Kelly Hales, all worked in an outpatient pharmacy at the hospital.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
