Jason Myers

Working for WBTV comes full circle for Jason, who grew up watching WBTV as a kid in the Charlotte area. Born in Salisbury, Jason spent time growing up in Union and Catawba counties, before graduating from high school in Davidson County.

Jason first developed his interest in weather, while working on a 3rd grade science project; which included taking a weather class at Discovery Place in Charlotte, and making a homemade weather station with the help of his Mom.

Jason went to North Carolina State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a Communication Concentration. After graduating from NC State, Jason worked as a weather observer at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, giving weather updates to the control tower.

Jason started his broadcast meteorology career at KRBC-TV in Abilene, Texas, and went on to work at WRIC-TV in Richmond, Virginia, and was most recently the Chief Meteorologist for ABC 36 in Lexington, Kentucky.

All of Jason’s extended family live in North Carolina, and Jason is happy to be back working in his home state, with meteorologists he grew up watching, like Eric Thomas and Al Conklin. Jason is married to his childhood friend, Jillian, and they currently live near where they first met and got married. Jason and Jillian have four kids.
