First Alert Weather Meteorologist

Charlotte, NC

Eric Garlick joined the WBTV weather team in May of 2023. He comes to North Carolina after living and forecasting weather in many parts of the country, including the Southeast and Tornado Alley. Eric holds a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal, which is issued by the American Meteorology Society.

Eric grew up in a small town in Southeastern Michigan and graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Meteorology. After graduating he started his career in the Midwest and after a few stops, has made his was to WBTV.

Eric married his wife, Lauren, in 2018 and they have two children. A daughter, Georgia, and Son, Porter. Eric and his family are looking forward to calling North Carolina home.

Eric enjoys spending time with the family, exploring new restaurants/food, watching or playing golf, and attempting to find some time to work out. He is really looking forward to forecasting the weather in North Carolina and joining the great weather team at WBTV.
