First Alert Meteorologist Elissia Wilson joined WBTV in January of 2022 after 3 years of forecasting at TMJ4-Milwaukee. While at TMJ4, she covered a wide range of weather conditions from severe thunderstorms to snowstorms. Now, she’s ready for the challenge of forecasting weather of the Carolinas from the mountains to the piedmont.
Elissia’s career has taken her to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, The Weather Channel; as a radio broadcast meteorologist, and the weather extremes of Fort Smith, Arkansas where she once had to cover tornado and blizzard warnings all in the same day.
Elissia is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. She earned her master’s degree in Geoscience, with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology, from Mississippi State University. She also holds the AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
