Courtney Cole joined the WBTV news team in November 2020.
Courtney calls Virginia home but is no stranger to the Queen City, she’s a proud 49er grad from UNC Charlotte and former WBTV Intern.
Prior to coming to here, she was a multimedia journalist at our sister station KNOE in Monroe, LA.
During her time there she covered the aftermath of 2020 Hurricane season, education, local government, crime and a excessive force investigation within the Monroe Police Department.
During her time at WBTV in college, Courtney reported on the LYNX light rail system opening on UNCC’s campus, a winter Olympian’s visit to elementary students, and the 2019 campus shooting on the last day of classes.
Courtney is looking forward to coming back to Charlotte and telling the stories that matter most to the community.
She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
When she’s not out in the field, Courtney enjoys cooking, watching TV series on Netflix, going out to eat, and spending time with friends.
