CMPD investigating after one shot and killed in southwest Charlotte

The incident happened in the 3100 block of Nobles Avenue on Wednesday evening.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide in southwest Charlotte.

Officers responded to the shooting shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 3100 block of Nobles Avenue.

When officers arrived, James Michael Hinson, 31, was discovered with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CMPD believes Hinson and the suspect knew each other.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.
