Easter Weekend: Showers likely this morning, heavier rain arrives Monday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - If you’re heading out to an Easter egg hunt this morning, take the rain gear. The rain won’t last all day, but it could slow you down for a few hours.

There is a disturbance moving through, bringing a shower chance for the morning hours. Even though the clouds will stick around, by this afternoon, the rain will be headed east. Highs will be in the low 70s.

Easter Sunday will be a nice one! If you’re headed out to a sunrise service, temperatures will start out in the mid 50s. The afternoon will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 70s. There could be a few showers moving in toward evening.

The wettest day will be Monday. A First Alert has been issued for rain, which could be heavy at times, starting as early as the morning commute. Around an inch of rain will be possible. Highs will be very limited as we will only reach the mid 50s in the afternoon.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be mild and sunny. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Temperatures start to climb toward the end of the week. Highs will be in the mid 70s on Thursday and the low 80s on Friday.
