Steele Creek shooting leaves one dead
Police are still investigating what led up to the fatal event.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - One person is dead after a shooting Saturday morning at Horizons at Steele Creek apartments in Charlotte.
Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department heard shots fired near the apartments, located off Hillgrove Lane in the Steel Creek Division, around 3:30 a.m. There, they found a man with life-threatening injuries and several casings.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.
Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective. Detective Jones is the lead detective assigned to this case.
