Mild weekend ahead with a First Alert for rain next week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Even with mainly cloudy skies, temps will start to rebound today.
- Highs in the 70s this weekend
- First Alert for rain in the week ahead
- More above-average temperatures
Today will be mainly cloudy with the high getting close to 70 this afternoon. The sun could try to break out later in the day. If you’re heading out to the Charlotte FC home opener this evening, the weather will cooperate. Temperatures will be in the low 60s and it will be dry.
Sunday will be warmer than today. With clouds in the morning, highs will reach the upper 70s. The old record is 78 and the forecast high is also 78. Monday will be even warmer. Highs will reach the low 80s. The old record of 85 doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy right now.
By Tuesday evening, there will be a chance for a few showers. The chance stands at about 30 percent. The best chance for rain will move in at night and last into the day on Wednesday. That’s when we have our next First Alert. It will be the coolest and wettest day of the week. Highs only reach the upper 50s.
There’s a small shower chance again on Thursday - but overall, we will begin to dry out. Highs return to the 60s toward the end of the week. However, models seem to indicate we will be in for chilly weather again by next weekend.
Make it a great weekend!
