Victim identified in north Charlotte shooting that prompted nearby school lockdown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Police have identified the woman who was shot and killed inside a north Charlotte home Wednesday, which prompted a temporary lockdown of a nearby school.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the victim is 40-year-old Eileen Rosado. Officers arrived at the apartment on Spring Street and found the woman shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they had reasons to believe a suspect was still inside the apartment, but it was later determined that the shooter took off.

The nearby Walter G. Byers School was locked down for a period of time due to police activity in the area.
