IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - A man is sitting in jail under a $1 million bond after being charged with 18 counts of child sex offense in Iredell County.

Officials say a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit regarding a child having been sexually assaulted.

The victim was interviewed and several additional witnesses were located and interviewed.

Based on evidence and information gathered during the investigation, felony warrants for arrest were obtained for Timothy Clayton Campbell.

He was charged with 18 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult.

Campbell was arrested on July 21 and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. Campbell went before Magistrate S. Watkins and received a $1 million secured bond.
