CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person killed in a motorcycle crash in east Charlotte Monday night has been identified by police as 31-year-old Shaquon Thompson.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. on East W.T. Harris Boulevard at Delta Crossing Lane.
Police say Thompson was driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when a car pulled out in front of him and the vehicles collided. Thompson was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of the car, 19-year-old Moo Paw, was not hurt.
Paw was interviewed and “found to have consumed an impairing substance,” police say. Paw was charged with DWI, window tint violation, no operator’s license, possession of marijuana over a half ounce and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Both roads were temporarily closed.
