18-year-old Charlotte kidnapping victim found safe

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - An 18-year-old woman believed to have been kidnapped in Charlotte has been found and is safe, police say. The suspect is in custody.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives asked for the public’s help Wednesday to find 18-year-old Jada Lanise Latimer, who was believed to be in immediate danger.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Albemarle Road for domestic disturbance call. Officers learned that Latimer had been involved in an altercation with a man she knew.

Thursday, police reported Latimer was found safe. The suspect in the alleged kidnapping, identified by police as 22-year-old Christopher Bailey, was arrested. He faces charges of first-degree kidnapping and assault on a female.
