Kids scatter as 50 shots fired in Charlotte neighborhood, hitting multiple homes and cars
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Children could be seen running away as more than 50 gunshots were fired in a Charlotte neighborhood, hitting multiple homes and vehicles.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say detectives have charged 20-year-old Christopher Gilmore for his involvement in this shooting that happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. on May 8, 2021,
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Nations Drive. When they arrived, officers located two houses and four vehicles which had been struck by gunfire from more than 50 rifle and pistol rounds. No one was injured during this incident.
As a result of continued investigation, detectives identified Gilmore as a suspect in this case.
On May 10, 2021, Gilmore was arrested and and charged with felony conspiracy, two counts of discharge weapon into occupied dwelling, and four counts of injury to personal property.
Steele Creek Division detectives are asking the public to review the video below and call 911 immediately if anyone knows the identity of the two additional suspects involved in the shooting.
