CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - So far, we’re 1.32″ below average for April rainfall. On top of that, the pollen isn’t backing off. While rain would be nice, there still isn’t much in the forecast this week.
Today will be mainly sunny with highs in the low 70s. If you have any outdoor plans, enjoy!
Monday and Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the low to mid 70s. Rain chances remain slim.
A cold front will move through on Wednesday and bring about a 20% chance for showers. Highs will reach the low 70s before we cool down considerably after the front moves through.
The biggest concern for the week doesn’t have anything to do with precipitation. It will be the chilly air arriving behind the cold front. We will start Thursday morning with lows in the mid 30s in Charlotte. It will be in the low to mid 30s in the foothills and the upper 20s in the mountains. If you have planted anything (or were planning to this lovely Sunday afternoon) just keep in mind, some of us could have frost before the week is over. The best chance is on Thursday morning, but Friday morning may not be much warmer.
Highs during the day on Thursday will be in the mid 60s. We will rebound to the low 70s on Friday.
The next best chance for rain will arrive next Saturday. It isn’t a sure thing, but it’s the best chance we’ve seen in a while. We’ll be tracking the system all week to see if it will finally bring some much-needed rain.
Make it a great Sunday!
