Spotty rain chances through midweek with a cooler end to the work week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Clouds look to increase overnight, with a few sprinkles possible as low temperatures cool to around 50 degrees by daybreak Monday.

The NC mountains will start off around 40 degrees.

Monday will be another pleasant day with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and afternoon high temperatures in the low to mid-70s for the Charlotte Metro area and Piedmont with highs around 60 degrees for the mountains.

A few sprinkles will be possible for Monday morning mainly across the northern piedmont and mountains.

A cold front will approach the region late Tuesday and move across the Carolinas by early Wednesday bringing the chance for a few spotty rain showers.

Temperatures look to stay in the mid-70s for Tuesday with lower 70s for Wednesday.

Thursday will be our coolest day of the week with morning low temperatures starting off in the mid to upper 30s with the chance for a frost across the Piedmont, and freeze across the mountains.

Thursday afternoon will feature mostly sunny skies with afternoon high temperatures in the mid-60s.

Friday morning will start off in the mid to upper 30s once again with some patchy frost possible, with pleasant afternoon temperatures warming into the upper 60s.

Some weather data hints at a better chance for more widespread, scattered rain for Saturday, yet confidence is still low with regard to rain chances next weekend. High temperatures look to remain around 70 degrees for next weekend.
