15-year-old killed, another minor injured in double shooting in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A teenager was charged in a shooting that killed a 15-year-old in northwest Charlotte.

A 15-year-old, whose name has not been released, has been accused in the murder of 15-year-old Shamareon McKinney. Another juvenile was shot but is expected to recover.

On Wednesday, the 15-year-old was found, arrested and taken to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. He is facing a murder charge.

The shooting happened on April 10 on Tuckaseegee Road.

Police said McKinney was shot. Another juvenile was also shot, and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

McKinney was taken to the hospital where he later died.
