SHELBY, N.C. (WBTV) - An 18-year-old was killed, and three others were injured, in two shootings in Shelby, North Carolina.

The shootings happened after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers initially responded to a shooting on Frederick Street where they found three people shot, but they are expected to recover, according to Shelby police.

While investigating the first shooting, officers were called to another shooting a short distance away on Lenoir Drive. Daquarrius Raquan Sanders, 18, had been shot before he was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police said the two shootings are connected, but no arrests have been made.
