39 children, 9 adults get out safely after fire severely damages daycare in Alexander County

No one hurt in Alexander County daycare fire

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - Firefighters were able to bring 39 children and nine adults to safety as flames burned at a daycare in Alexander County.

The fire started in a mulch pile outside of Small Hands Day Care in Stony Point. The flames spread from the pile to the front porch and the exterior wall.

Although it did not cause much damage inside, there was visible damage to the outside of the daycare.

There were no injuries and the fire was ruled accidental but caused $30,000 worth of damage.
