2 dogs killed, 7 displaced from house fire in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two dogs died and seven people were displaced, including a newborn, from a house fire in north Charlotte.

The fire happened Saturday evening on Benfield Road.

Firefighters said two dogs died in the fire, and the six adults and a newborn child are being assisted by the Greater Carolinas Red Cross.

It took 27 firefighters about an hour to control the fire.

Investigators have not said what caused the fire.
