VACCINE TEAM: When will clergy be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A viewer reached out to the WBTV Vaccine Team with this question: “When will clergy be eligible given they minister to families with sickness and death?”

Leaders in our faith community fall into Group 3. Our Frontline Essential Workers. They’re in the subgroup of government and community service workers.

Right now, North Carolina is vaccinating anyone involved in education and childcare; from teachers to bus drivers to the essential workers who clean our schools.

They are first up. But on March 10, the rest of our Frontline Essential Workers, like clergy, will be able to get their shots.

The state bases this group “Frontline Essential Workers” as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency.

The WBTV Vaccine Team would love to help you unravel what can be very confusing. If you have a question for us, please click here to submit it.
