CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A vehicle crashed in northwest Charlotte Wednesday morning, taking down power lines in the area and closing the road.
The wreck happened before 5:30 a.m. on Freedom Drive near Toddville Road, closing all lanes in the area. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police expect Freedom Drive to remain closed between Little Rock Road and Toddville Road through 9:30 a.m. while repair crews work on downed power lines.
Paw Creek Road may be used as an alternate.
Medic says one person was taken to the hospital.
At least one person was without power in the area for a time, according to Duke Energy.
