CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Award-winning WBTV reporter Steve Crump moderated a virtual roundtable on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday presented by the Harvey B Gantt Center.
The roundtable took place Monday morning during the Gantt Center’s MLK Day Virtual Celebration. It was a panel, focused on civil rights in the 21st Century.
The Gantt Center says they were “thrilled to present this impactful discussion” with attorneys James Ferguson II and Geraldine Sumter of Ferguson Chambers & Sumter, PA, moderated by Steve Crump.
The panelists spoke on what Dr. King stood for and what is currently happening to fulfill his vision.
The event was presented on The Gantt Center’s YouTube channel starting at 10 a.m. with the singing of hymns and freedom songs with Mary Williams.
Around 10:45 a.m., the roundtable discussion began and was also streamed on WBTV’s Facebook page and livestreaming platforms.
