Truck crash closes road in Lancaster County

LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - A truck crash that injured one person closed part of SC-97 in Lancaster County Wednesday morning.

The crash happened before 7 a.m., blocking part of SC-97. Lancaster Emergency management expects to road to remain closed for most of the morning.

Traffic usually diverts off I-77 to Camden on 97 to reach 20. Wednesday morning’s crash will make that impossible for commuters.

Drivers may continue down I-77 to Columbia or head to Heath Springs and get on SC-522 to Liberty Hill and get back on 97.

A driver involved was taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK. The truck was hauling Amazon packages, some of which spilled.
