CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police says they are now considering the death of a man in Oct. 2020 as “justified”.

Officers responded to Conway Avenue and when they arrived, they found Jonquil Antoine Thompson lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened on Oct. 3, 2020 but as Jan. 12, 2021, of CMPD detectives have classified this case as a justified homicide.  

The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office has reviewed the case and concurred with the detectives’ decision not to charge anyone in this case.
