Virginia man dead following Jefferson wreck

JEFFERSON, N.C. (WBTV) - A Virginia man has died in a collision off NC 16 in Jefferson Friday morning.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident about 8:30 a.m.

Officials say a Ford Ranger driven by David Oscar Osbourne of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia was heading north but ran off the road to the left. He then went down an embankment and overturned.

Osbourne was not wearing a seatbelt. He died on scene.

There were no passengers.

Impairment doesn’t believe to be a contributing factor in the wreck. It was snowing at the time of the crash.
