CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A deeper temperature plunge is on tap for tonight and Thursday morning as lows are expected to plunge into the upper 20s across the Piedmont and low to mid-20s from the Mountains to the Foothills.
In the meantime, sunshine will continue to illuminate the sky while doing very little to warm us up here on the ground. In fact, Wednesday’s highs will only top out in the mid-50s which is several degrees below seasonal averages.
After Thursday morning’s bitterly cold start will gradually to the upper 50s by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
We’ll embark on a temperature recovery Friday and into the weekend as highs move up from the 60s to the lower 70s.
Our next best chance for rain appears to be Monday into Wednesday as not one, but two cold fronts move through the Carolinas early next week.
