CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - One person was found dead and a firefighter was injured in a northeast Charlotte house fire.
The home caught fire before 2:30 a.m. off of Sandringham Place near N Tryon Street.
Officials say arriving there were heavy fire conditions that delayed search and rescue efforts.
After the fire was extinguished, heavy equipment was brought to the scene to allow fire companies to search the entire home.
Fire officials say one person was found dead.
The injured firefighter was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
The home involved had extensive damage, but there’s no word on what caused the fire.
The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation and CMPD is conducting a death investigation.
