Registered sex offender faces new charges, including living within 1000 feet of school

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - Dalmus Rex Odom, 52, a registered sex offender, faces new charges after he allegedly moved from his address without notifying the Rowan Sheriff’s Office.

Odom was charged on Tuesday with interfering with an electronic monitor, failing to report a new address, and a sex offender residence violation.

The residence violation refers to Odom living within 1000 feet of a school, in this case, Salisbury High.

All three are felony charges.

Odom was convicted of second degree rape in 1998.

Odom is now being held on a bond of $20,000.
