N.C. man accused of sexually assaulting child over 2 years gets $2.5 million bond, sheriff’s office says

BEAR CREEK, N.C. (WNCN) – A Chatham County man was jailed with a $2.5 million bond for sexually abusing a child under 12 years old “multiple times over a two-year period,” according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Dwayne Rexal Marsh, 58, of Bear Creek, was arrested Thursday by Sanford police in the culmination of an investigation that began in September 2019. He was charged with 13 counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, 14 counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, felony statutory rape of a child by an adult, and 13 counts of sexual battery, the release said.

Marsh is due in court on April 27.
