YORK COUNTY, S.C. (WBTV) - Crews battled a house fire in York County Friday morning, leading to a road closure.

The fire broke out at around 6:50 a.m. at a home off Greenwood Road at Reservation Road, closing the area. According to officials, a woman was able to run from the home and a passing bus driver called 911 for her.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK. Her name has not been released.

Deputies tweeted about the fire around 8:15 a.m. Flames and smoke could be seen coming from the home.

Just after 10:30 firefighters began clearing from the scene. They say the home was a total loss.

Officials were going to the hospital to talk with the victim and try to assist her.

The cause of the fire has not been released but it is under investigation.
