MOORESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - No one was inside when a Mooresville home went up in flames Thursday morning.

The fire broke out before 10 a.m. at a home on Isle of Pines Rd. near Brawley School Road. Heavy flames and smoke could be seen from a distance coming from the two-story home. While there is no loss of life to people or pets, officials say, the home is beyond saving.

From WBTV’s Sky3, the roof of the home could be seen collapsing as crews battled the blaze.

“I know how hard he worked for this house,” a neighbor said of the owner of the now gutted home. “I pray he’s going to be able to get through this.”

There is no word on what may have sparked the fire.
